In a season with 3 American League Central teams making the postseason, the Minnesota Twins were one of the teams left out of the playoff picture.
The Twins had spent the majority of the season in the playoff picture but ended up being pushed out by the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals.
After losing to the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series in 2023, the Twins followed up with another winning season of 82 wins and 80 losses.
Even with the winning record, the Twins collapsed out of a playoff spot down the stretch and will look to change things in 2025.
According to B/R Walk-Off on ‘X,’ the Twins announce that General Manager Thad Levine has left the organization.

Levine has been the General Manager of the Twins for the last 8 seasons.
It appears that Levine and the organization have mutually agreed to part ways as Levine will seek a larger role with another club.
The Twins have made the playoffs 3 out of the last 6 seasons, but this only includes appearances in the wild-card and American League Division Series.
They haven’t appeared in an American League Championship Series since 2002 and haven’t won a World Series since 1991.
Missing the playoffs is one thing but seeing 3 other divisional teams make the American League Divisional Series makes it even more disappointing.
The only other team out of the AL Central to miss the playoffs was the historically bad Chicago White Sox who lost 121 games in 2024.
In 2025, the Twins will hope to right the ship and return to the postseason.
