The Los Angeles Dodgers won the eighth World Series title in franchise history by defeating the New York Yankees in five games in 2024.
After taking home the title, the Dodgers got right back to work in the offseason as they made multiple key acquisitions to improve their pitching staff.
The Dodgers added starting pitcher Blake Snell from the San Francisco Giants, relief pitcher Tanner Scott from the San Diego Padres and starting pitcher Roki Sasaki from Japan.
Although Sasaki is being hyped for his electric arm and potential to be a Cy Young-caliber pitcher, he made a personal announcement before the start of his first MLB season.
“Roki Sasaki revealed on Instagram that he is now married,” MLB wrote on X.

In 2024, Sasaki appeared in 18 games and was 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 111.0 innings pitched.
Sasaki is experiencing some big professional changes as he comes over from Japan, but it appears he also is experiencing the change of being married.
Although Sasaki has never thrown a pitch in MLB, he is expected to be dominant from the start.
It will be interesting to see how the Dodgers choose to utilize Sasaki in his first season, as he has never thrown more than 130 innings in a single season.
