The Houston Astros have made quite high expectations for themselves over the past 7 years.
They have made the last 7 American League Championship Series and won the American League West 7 of the last 8 seasons.
With a 5-game lead over the Seattle Mariners and only 6 games remaining, they are in the driver’s seat to win yet another division title.
A big reason for all of the Astros success is starting pitcher Framber Valdez who is having another great season in 2024.
According to MLB on ‘X,’ Valdez has dominated since the all-star break and helped the Astros push for an 8th straight postseason berth.

The stats speak for themselves as Valdez has a record of 6 wins and 2 losses with a 1.74 earned run average, 0.82 walks and hits per inning pitched, and 83 strikeouts since the break.
Valdez came into the league in 2018 and has played his whole career for the Astros.
He has made the American League Championship Series every year of his career and has proved that he knows how to pitch in the postseason.
His numbers in the postseason include a record of 7 wins and 5 losses with a 4.24 earned run average and 92 strikeouts in 80.2 innings pitched.
The extensive 162-game MLB season includes a lot of ups and downs for both players and teams.
Playoff teams want to be playing their best baseball at the end of the regular season and roll that over into the playoffs.
Valdez is doing just that as he has been terrific since the all-star break and the Astros will look to him as they make another World Series run in 2024.
