The Kansas City Royals have clinched the second wild-card spot in the American League.
With a final record of 86 wins and 76 losses, the Royals will make their first postseason appearance since 2015.
After only winning 56 games a year ago, the turnaround this year is amazing, to say the least.
One player on this Royals team seemed to be their leader and best player throughout the season.
According to The Athletic on ‘X,’ Royals General Manager says he doesn’t think Bobby Witt Jr. wants the spotlight, but he enjoys it.
Bobby Witt Jr's season — catapulting him to superstardom — has been one for the ages, the engine of a resurgent Royals team heading to the playoffs.

Witt Jr. has played his way right into the Most Valuable Player conversation in 2024.
His season stats include a .332 batting average with 32 home runs, 109 runs batted in, and a .977 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Currently in his third Major League Season, all with the Royals, Witt Jr. has improved each season with his third season putting him in the superstar category.
The young shortstop made his first all-star team in 2024, and he appears to have many more to come in the future.
2024 will only be the fourth appearance in the playoffs for the Royals in the last 40 seasons.
The bright side to this is that they have won the World Series in 2 of those years coming in 2015 and 1985 with the other playoff appearance being a World Series loss in 2014.
The Royals will look to their star shortstop to continue his amazing season as he makes his playoff debut.
After the regular season concludes on Monday, the Royals will take on the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday to begin their playoff run.
