With Sunday being the last games of the regular season for most teams, all eyes are on the postseason.
The Kansas City Royals will make their first postseason appearance since 2015 as they clinched an American League wild-card spot.
Planning and strategies for the postseason have begun and teams will have to decide which pitchers they want to throw for them in these meaningful first playoff games.
According to MLB analyst Jim Bowden, Royals manager Matt Quatraro announced their rotation for the Wildcard series.

Quatraro reveals that Cole Ragans, Seth Lugo, and Michael Wacha will be the starting rotation for their playoff series.
Ragans has been arguably the Royals best pitcher in 2024 as he possesses a record of 11 wins and 9 losses with a 3.14 earned run average and 223 strikeouts in 186.1 innings pitched.
Lugo will start the second game and has the most wins of any Royals pitcher this year with 16.
He holds a record of 16 wins and 9 losses with a 3.00 earned run average with 181 strikeouts in 206.2 innings pitched.
Wacha will be third in line to start and holds a record of 13 wins and 8 losses with a 3.35 earned run average and 145 strikeouts in 166.2 innings pitched.
Royals fans most likely feel comfortable with that rotation as all 3 pitchers have an earned run average in the 3’s.
The Royals enter game 162 with a record of 85 wins and 76 losses and will look to end the regular season on a win against the Atlanta Braves.
With their last postseason appearance ending in a World Series title, the Royals will look to follow that up with another World Series in 2024.
