The Kansas City Royals have clinched a postseason spot in the 2024 playoffs, and it will be their first playoff appearance since 2015 when they won the World Series.
With a record of 85 wins and 76 losses, the Royals sit in the 3rd American League wild-card spot, trailing the Detroit Tigers by 1 game for the 2nd spot.
The Royals have been led by their standout shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. throughout the 2024 season.
According to MLB on ‘X,’ Witt made an honest admission about making the postseason.

Like many kids, Witt describes that he dreamed of making the postseason as a child, and he is now able to live that dream.
Witt has had an amazing 2024 regular season, and it has put him in the conversation for the league’s Most Valuable Player award.
Although it appears Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees will win the award, Witt has at least made the voters think twice.
On the season, Witt is batting .332 with 32 home runs, 109 runs batted in, and a .980 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Since coming into the league in 2022 with the Royals, Witt has improved each season as his batting average, home runs, runs batted in, and on-base plus slugging percentage all went up each year.
The Royals are finishing up their regular season on Sunday where they are facing off against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.
Witt and the Royals will look to make a run in the playoffs and be the 3rd straight wild-card team to make the World Series.
