The Texas Rangers are the current reigning World Series Champions as they took out the Arizona Diamondbacks 4 games to 1 in 2023.
Some may call the 2024 season a bit of a World Series hangover due to the Rangers underperforming and holding a record of 71 wins and 76 losses.
The Rangers sit 7.5 games back of the Houston Astros in the American League West and also 7.5 games back of a wild card spot.
Even with the underwhelming season, the Rangers are having, they did make a splash this week.
According to the official ‘X’ account of the Rangers, they have signed Chris Young to a multi-year contract extension.

Young held the role of Executive Vice President and General Manager while leading the Rangers to their first-ever World Series title in 2023.
He has now been promoted to President of Baseball operations, where he replaces Jon Daniels.
The Dallas native Young stated on MLB.com reported by Kennedi Landry, “The Texas Rangers organization holds a very special place for me, and I am excited to continue building on what we’ve started here.”
Young joined the Rangers organization in 2020 and previously played for the Rangers as a player in 2004 and 2005.
His World Series title last year made him only the third person to win a World Series as both a player and a General Manager since 1950 where he joins Johnny Murphy and Stan Musial.
The Rangers hope to end this season strong and bring some positive momentum into the 2025 season with Young as their new President of Baseball Operations.
