The Texas Rangers are experiencing a little bit of a World Series hangover in their 2024 season thus far.
After thumping the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-1 World Series win in 2023, the Rangers hold a record of 70 wins and 76 losses in the 2024 season.
The Rangers are 8 games back of the Houston Astros in the American League West, and they are also 8 games back in the American League Wild Card race.
Rangers fans do have something to be excited about on Thursday, however.
MLB reports that the Rangers’ number 2 prospect Kumar Rocker will take the mound against the Seattle Mariners.

It might be too little too late for the Rangers to make the postseason in 2024, but they can start to turn things in the right direction Thursday with the Rocker call-up.
The level of pitching in the Rangers rotation is high with the likes of Nathan Eovaldi, Max Scherzer, Jon Gray, and Jacob DeGrom lurking to come off of the IL.
Rocker hopes to live up to the expectations that these pitchers have given Rangers fans.
He played 2 seasons in the minors where he posted a 2-3 record with a 2.78 earned run average and 97 strikeouts in 64.2 innings pitched.
Rocker played 3 seasons for Vanderbilt University in college where he posted a 28-10 record with a 2.89 earned run average and 321 strikeouts in 236.2 innings pitched.
These stats are why Rocker is a standout pitcher and give the Rangers hope to turn this season around at the end and propel them into next season.
The Rangers hope for Rocker to excel in his debut and become a staple in their rotation for years to come as they search for another World Series title.
