The New York Yankees got back into the postseason after missing the playoffs in 2023, as they finished with a record of 94-68 and won the American League East title.
After getting back into the postseason, the Yankees made a run to the World Series before the heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The offseason saw the Yankees face yet another heartbreak as their star outfielder Juan Soto signed a 15-year deal worth $765 million with the New York Mets via free agency.
Although they lost Soto, the Yankees came back and made some key acquisitions including starting pitcher Max Fried, relief pitcher Devin Williams, and outfielder Cody Bellinger.
With the addition of Fried, Yankees starter Marcus Stroman could be the sixth man in the rotation, and he shut down the possibility of pitching out of the bullpen in 2025.
“I won’t pitch in the bullpen, I’m a starter,” Stroman said via FOX Sports: MLB on ‘X.’

Stroman is a 33-year-old starting pitcher who came into the league in 2014 with the Toronto Blue Jays and has played for four different teams over his 10-year MLB career.
In 2024 with the Yankees, Stroman appeared in 30 games, 29 of them being starts, where he held a record of 10-9 with a 4.31 ERA and 113 strikeouts in 154.2 innings pitched.
The two-time all-star starting pitcher appeared to make his stance on the possibility of pitching out of the bullpen clear.
It will be interesting to see how the Stroman situation plays out for the Yankees, as they could potentially make a move with him at some point in time.
