The New York Mets were one of the more surprising teams in 2024 as they made a run to the National League Championship Series before losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
After finishing the season with a record of 89-73 and coming in second in the National League East, the Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies in the postseason as a wild-card team.
This offseason, the Mets made their biggest splash of late as they signed top free agent Juan Soto to a 15-year deal worth $765 million.
MLB insider Anthony DiComo revealed when Soto will debut with his new team.
“Juan Soto will make his Mets game debut in their Grapefruit League opener on Saturday,” DiComo wrote on X.

Soto debuted in 2018 with the Washington Nationals and has played for three teams over his seven-year MLB career.
Last season in his first year with the New York Yankees, Soto played in 157 games and batted .288 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs and a .989 OPS.
The Soto sweepstakes was the focal point of the offseason from the time it began until he signed his new deal with the Mets.
With Soto joining other star players like Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso, the Mets lineup could be dangerous this season.
Mets fans are likely itching to see Soto on the field and will get that chance very soon.
