The San Francisco Giants will miss the postseason for the third straight season in 2024.
2024 included a record of 80 wins and 82 losses, which resulted in a fourth-place finish in the National League West division.
This was their second straight losing season with 2022 ending with an even .500 record with 81 wins and 81 losses.
The Giants appear to be making some big changes ahead of the 2025 season.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, Buster Posey announced that the Giants fired General Manager Pete Putila.

Posey recently took over the role of President of Baseball Operations after the firing of Farhan Zaidi.
A press conference held by Posey on Tuesday to address his new role included the announcement that Putila was fired by the team.
After he announced the firing, Posey explained that hiring a new General Manager would be one of the first tasks that he would complete.
Posey is well respected by the Giants organization as he was a 3-time World Series Champion with the team in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
Along with his World Series rings, Posey was the Rookie of the Year in 2010 and won the Most Valuable Player award in 2012.
Although he is well-known for his history as a player, Posey does not have any prior front-office experience.
It appears as if Posey will rely on the people around him in the front office to make decisions regarding the club.
After an amazing career as a player with the Giants, Posey will try to turn the team around from a front-office position in 2025.
