Posey will take over the position from Farhan Zaidi, who has held the job for the last 6 seasons.
The well-known face and franchise legend Posey is also a part owner of the team.
Posey played all 12 seasons of his Major League career for the Giants, and he was the face of the organization for years.
The former Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player will try to turn the Giants back into the powerhouse they were during his playing years.
From 2009 when Posey came into the league with the Giants to 2021 when he retired, the Giants won 3 World Series Championships.
Posey’s best year of his career came in 2012 when he won the MVP award as he batted .336 with 24 home runs, 103 runs batted in, and a .957 on-base plus slugging percentage.
The 2024 Giants had potential to be contenders with free agent signings including Blake Snell, Matt Chapman, Jorge Soler, and Jung Hoo Lee.
Posey will look to turn the team in the right direction come 2025 when he takes over the President of Baseball Operations position.
