The New York Yankees are preparing to defend the American League pennant after appearing in their first World Series since 2009.
After finishing the 2024 season with a record of 94-68 and winning the American League East, the Yankees made a run to the World Series before losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Yankees head into the 2025 season with a different look after they lost outfielder Juan Soto as a free agent, yet they still appear to be one of the favorites in the American League.
Gerrit Cole will once again lead the starting rotation, and he revealed what general manager Brian Cashman said regarding the team’s facial hair policy.
“Gerrit Cole told reporters that Brian Cashman didn’t have much to say on what the beard parameters would be, just that he didn’t want the players looking like Duck Dynasty out there,” FOX Sports: MLB wrote on X.

The Yankees have always been well-known for their no-beard policy, along with not having last names on the back of their jerseys.
The remarks by Cashman seem to signify that some kind of beard may be allowed this season.
The Yankees missed the postseason in 2023 after making six straight appearances before that.
After going to the World Series in 2024, the Yankees have their eyes on the 28th title in franchise history in 2025, and they hope Cole will lead the way on the mound.
