The New York Mets have been winning all of the big games as of late, and they have been doing so with surges in the late innings.
They took the wild-card series over the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 and currently hold a 1-0 series lead over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series.
Game 1 included the Mets being held scoreless through 7 innings before scoring 5 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th for a 6-2 victory.
According to FOX Sports MLB on ‘X,’ Derek Jeter has a message for the Mets offense after their comeback win in game 1.
"Great job by [the Mets], but I will say this. It's a recipe for disaster if you think that you can continue to wait to score in the 8th or 9th inning every game, and come back and win." 👀

Over the Mets last few big wins, their offense hasn’t done much for most of the game.
They have scored most of their runs in the 8th inning or later, and Jeter explains that it isn’t sustainable and is a recipe for disaster.
The Mets have been trailing games late and using their late-game heroics to come out with the victories.
Jeter would like to see the Mets attack earlier in the game as they can’t count on coming back in the late innings every time.
Game 2 will occur on Sunday, and the Mets will look to Luis Severino on the mound while the Phillies will throw Christopher Sanchez.
The 5-game series will move to New York for game 3, so game 2 is crucial for the Mets to win so they have the opportunity to close out the series at home.
A National League Championship Series appearance would be the Mets first since they lost the World Series in 2015.
