The Toronto Blue Jays are in the midst of an underwhelming season as they sit in last place in the American League East.
The Blue Jays hold a record of 69 wins and 78 losses, which lands them 16 games back of the division-leading New York Yankees.
It is hard for fans to get excited about a last-place team, but any time MLB history is made it needs to be noticed.
Even with the underperforming season the Blue Jays are having, they do have a bright spot to highlight in Bowden Francis.
According to Codify Baseball, Francis made MLB history by only allowing 13 hits in his last 6 starts.

Codify Baseball points out that no other pitcher in MLB history has allowed fewer hits in a 6-game span where they pitched at least 42 innings.
Francis came into the league in 2022 where he only appeared in 1 game.
2023 included Francis pitching out of the bullpen where he appeared in 20 games throwing 36.1 innings with a 1.73 earned run average.
Francis began to start games for the Blue Jays in 2024, and he might have found his new home as a starting pitcher.
On the year, Francis has appeared in 25 games and started 11 of them where he holds an 8-4 record with a 3.50 earned run average in 92.2 innings pitched.
The Blue Jays may be out of the playoff picture this season, but they have possibly found a hidden gem with Francis.
Francis will look to continue his recent hot streak in his next scheduled start on September 18th against the Texas Rangers in Texas.
