The 2025 Major League Baseball season is right around the corner as players have started to report to spring training.
All eyes will be on the New York Yankees, who are coming off their first World Series appearance since 2009 after finishing the regular season with a record of 94-68.
Although the Yankees had one of their best seasons in recent history, this offseason they lost one of their best players when Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets.
The Yankees did add some talent this offseason, so a new-look lineup could be in store for the 2025 season.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone was asked who his leadoff hitter would be.
“I don’t know, we’ll see,” Boone said, via YES Network.

Boone went on to say he could see six or seven guys being the one who lands in the leadoff spot, and it could come down to whether they’re facing a right-handed or left-handed starting pitcher.
The Yankees’ leadoff hitter toward the end of the 2024 season was primarily Gleyber Torres, who signed with the Detroit Tigers this offseason.
While Boone will likely have to feel out the lineup as the season begins, the Yankees have enough talent to be competitive again in 2025.
They will look to win back-to-back American League East titles for the first time since the 2011 and 2012 seasons and defend their American League title in 2025.
