Shohei Ohtani has taken Major League Baseball by storm since his Major League Debut with the Lost Angeles Angels in 2018.
As the regular season winds down to its final games of the extensive 162-game season, there is potential for MLB history to be made.
All eyes have been on Ohtani and his countdown to be the first player in the game’s history to record a 50/50 season.
According to MLB on ‘X,’ Ohtani is now only two home runs away from reaching these numbers, as he has 50 stolen bases on the season.

Ohtani was the biggest off-season player to move teams in 2023 where he signed a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth 700 million dollars over 10 years.
With this big contract comes big expectations for the reigning American League Most Valuable Player from 2023.
The numbers show that Ohtani is up for the challenge as he is batting a .287 with 48 home runs, 110 runs batted in, and a .978 on-base plus slugging percentage in 2024.
Ohtani stole his 50th base of the season Thursday, which leaves him 2 home runs shy of being the first player ever to have 50 stolen bases and 50 home runs in a single season.
Including the game Thursday, Ohtani has 10 games remaining this season to try and belt 2 more home runs to reach the milestone.
Dodgers fans may have been skeptical about forking out that much money over 10 years to a player who is 30 years old, but Ohtani is proving his worth so far.
The Dodgers hold a record of 90 wins and 62 losses in 2024 and look forward to seeing their new star player perform in the postseason.
