The Baltimore Orioles appear to be in a position to make a postseason appearance in 2024.
Although 6 games behind the New York Yankees in the American League East, the Orioles lead the wild-card race by 4 games.
As the Orioles prepare for the last week of the regular season and possibly the postseason, they are working on finalizing their roster.
According to The Athletic’s Dan Connolly, the Orioles made 3 roster moves on Tuesday.
The Orioles have made the following roster moves:
– Reinstated INF Ryan Mountcastle from the 10-day Injured List (left wrist sprain).

In arguably the best division in baseball, the Orioles have turned things around in recent years.
After 5 straight losing seasons from 2017 to 2021, the Orioles have had 3 straight winning seasons including an American League East title last year in 2023.
The Orioles have a record of 86 wins and 70 losses in 2024 and made roster moves before the last week of the season.
First baseman and left fielder Ryan Mountcastle was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.
Going along with this, Eloy Jimenez was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk, and veteran closer Craig Kimbrel was released by the team.
Mountcastle is batting .265 on the season with 13 home runs, 61 runs batted in, and a .730 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Jimenez came over from the Chicago White Sox in a trade earlier this season, but it has not panned out as planned.
In 33 games with the Orioles, Jimenez is batting .232 with 1 home run, 7 runs batted in, and a .586 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Kimbrel has also struggled in 2024 with a 5.33 earned run average in 57 appearances with 73 strikeouts in 52.1 innings pitched.
The Orioles will look to finish the season strong and make a run in the 2024 postseason.
