The switch from individual team jerseys to specialized all-star jerseys was criticized by many fans.
Making the all-star game is supposed to be a special moment for not only the players themselves but also the whole city that the player represents.
It appears that fans liked the tradition of players wearing their team jerseys and were not happy when the switch was made in 2019.
Special all-star uniforms will still be worn during the workout day and home run derby events, but players competing in the derby will wear their team uniforms.
It is uncertain if Major League Baseball made the switch back to individual team jerseys due to criticism of the fans or for alternative reasons.
Regardless, the fans of the game will get their wish and see their hometown jerseys represented again in July next season.
For some players, being selected to the all-star team is a career accomplishment while others make it regularly and have their eyes set on World Series titles.
It will be interesting to see the fans’ reactions come all-star break next year.
