The Major League Baseball playoffs are underway as both the American League and National League Division Series continue this week.
Monday will include game 2 of the series between the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers, where the Guardians hold a 1-0 series lead.
Before game 2 on Monday, the Guardians made a couple of tweaks to the American League Divisional Series roster.
According to GuardsInsider on ‘X,’ Angel Martinez has been added to the roster in place of Tyler Freeman who suffered a strained left oblique.

Freeman did not make an appearance in game 1 of the American League Division Series, but he was injured during a simulated game.
On the season, Freeman played in 118 games where he batted .209 with 7 home runs, 32 runs batted in, and a .626 on-base plus slugging percentage.
His replacement on the roster will be Martinez who played in 43 games this season and batted .232 with 3 home runs, 11 runs batted in, and a .635 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Both of these players are utility players who play multiple different positions on both the infield and outfield.
Having a utility player on the roster gives the club some added depth to use in certain situations and pick spots to gain a plus matchup.
The Guardians are trying to take a 2-0 series lead on Monday before the series moves to Detroit.
With it being a 5-game series, a 2-0 series lead is huge as it makes the other team have to win 3 straight games in order to advance.
If the series was to include a game 5, it would take place back in Cleveland as the Guardians are the higher seed.
