The New York Yankees clinched their 2nd American League East title in the last 3 seasons on Thursday.
A dominant 10-1 victory over their American League East rival Baltimore Orioles sealed the deal in 2024.
Ace pitcher Gerrit Cole of the Yankees faced off against ace pitcher Corbin Burnes of the Orioles, with Cole coming out victorious.
According to the YES Network on ‘X,’ Cole sends a clear message in an interview with Meredith Marakovits heading into the postseason.

While in the middle of celebrating the division title with his team, Cole gave his opinion on Giancarlo Stanton’s big home run and describes how locked in he himself feels.
In the division clinching win over the Orioles, Cole pitched 6.2 innings allowing 2 hits, 0 earned runs, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts.
After dealing with an injury for part of the 2024 season, Cole appears to be rounding into shape at the right time.
On the season, Cole has a record of 8 wins and 5 losses with a 3.41 earned run average and 99 strikeouts in 95.0 innings pitched.
The reigning American League Cy Young award winner described that playing in September and October makes him feel alive.
Cole’s postseason numbers include a record of 10 wins and 6 losses with a 2.93 earned run average and 134 strikeouts in 104.1 innings pitched.
A locked in Cole could mean problems for other teams as he appears locked in heading into the 2024 playoffs.
The Yankees will look to ace pitcher Cole and their big 3 hitters in Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Stanton as they try to win their first World Series title since 2009.
