The San Diego Padres have made the 2024 postseason for only the 3rd time in the last 18 seasons.
Things started well for the Padres as they swept the Atlanta Braves 2-0 in the wild-card series to clinch a berth in the National League Division Series.
A matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers awaits as the Dodgers finished the season with the best record in baseball.
Fernando Tatis Jr. started the postseason off with a bang as he hit a 2-run home run in the 1st inning of game 1 on Tuesday.
According to MLB Network on ‘X,’ Tatis reveals what the postseason win means to him.

Tatis points out all of the hard work and dedication that this Padres team has put in this season, especially players playing through injuries.
He describes the feeling as amazing while celebrating the wild-card series win over the Braves.
Tatis himself spent some time on the injured list this season as he only played in 102 games where he hit .276 with 21 home runs, 49 runs batted in, and a .833 on-base plus slugging percentage.
The Padres will now get a newly developed rivalry against the Dodgers who swept them back in 2020 in the National League Division Series en route to a World Series Championship.
October baseball is the best time of the year for fans, and players like Tatis seem to thrive in the electric environment.
The Padres will look to overcome the Dodgers and advance to the National League Championship Series.
They have not appeared in a World Series since 1998.
