The Cincinnati Reds finished the 2024 season with a record of 77 wins and 85 losses, which was good for 4th place in the National League Central.
In the last 11 seasons, the Reds have only made the playoffs 1 time back in the Covid-shortened 2020 season.
The Reds have a talented young roster with the likes of Ella De La Cruz, Matt McLain, and Spencer Steer.
2025 will include a new manager for the club as they have moved on from David Bell.
According to MLB on ‘X,’ Terry Francona has signed a 3-year contract with the Reds.

Francona has managed since 1997 for 3 different teams including the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, and Cleveland Guardians.
His career includes 2 World Series Titles with the Red Sox in 2004 and 2007, and an American League Pennant in 2016 with the then Cleveland Indians.
Francona has an overall managing record of 1950 wins and 1672 losses, which is good for a .538 win percentage.
The Reds believe that Francona will provide the team with an accomplished and veteran manager in their attempt to get their club back to the postseason.
With 5 World Series titles in franchise history, the Reds are looking to make it back to the big series as they haven’t appeared in a World Series since winning it in 1990.
The National League Central is a strong division that also includes the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Francona will look to work his magic with this young roster and bring the franchise their first National League Central division title since 2012.
