The Kansas City Royals haven’t made the postseason since they won the World Series in 2015.
Not only have they missed the playoffs in recent history, but they have come in last place in the American League Central the past 2 seasons.
In 2023, the Royals had a record of 56 wins and 106 losses, which was the second-worst record in the MLB.
The Royals have turned things around quickly in 2024 and are led by their young All-Star shortstop.
According to Codify on ‘X,’ Bobby Witt Jr. is the first player in the last 12 seasons to have 200 hits and a .600 slugging percentage in a single season.

Witt currently has 200 hits on the dot to go along with an exact .600 slugging percentage through 151 games this season.
He is the first player since Miguel Cabrera for the Detroit Tigers in 2012 to hit these numbers and has 11 games left to play this year.
The Royals are poised to make the postseason in 2024 as they sit in the second wild-card spot with a 2.5 game lead over the third wild-card team the Minnesota Twins.
Witt has been the leader of this Royals team and is a big reason why they went from the second worst record in baseball to a playoff team in just 1 year.
His stat line this season includes a .332 batting average with 32 home runs and 108 runs batted in.
It has been a career year for Witt, and the Royals will look to their stud shortstop to lead them into the postseason in an attempt to make another World Series run.
