The Detroit Tigers Cinderella season came to an end in game 5 of the American League Division Series against the Cleveland Guardians.
After holding a 2-1 series lead at one point, the Tigers lost the final 2 games of the series to give the Guardians the 3-2 series victory.
Although the Tigers season is now over, their Manager AJ Hinch had some positive words regarding his players.
According to Fox 2 Sports on ‘X,’ Hinch explained the heartbreaking loss, but he also pointed out that the Tigers are back to playing winning baseball.

The Tigers had their first winning season since 2016 as they had a record of 86 wins and 76 losses in 2024.
Hinch mentions how proud he is of his players and that they left everything they had out on the field against the Guardians.
Before 2024, the Tigers hadn’t made the postseason since 2014, and they weren’t supposed to make the playoffs this year after their poor start to the season.
The Tigers finished off the regular season as one of the hottest teams in baseball to sneak into the playoffs as an American League wild-card team.
Hinch believes this is the start of the Tigers having regular winning seasons, and he is happy his team got the opportunity to test themselves in the playoffs.
With the youngest roster in baseball, the Tigers could potentially have many winning years ahead as they try to get back to the postseason next year.
The franchise has 4 World Series titles in its history, but the most recent was back in 1984.
